According to Morspassluzhba Rosmorrechflot, 18 and 19 of February 2017 multipurpose rescue vessel (MRV) with a capacity of 4 MW MPSV07 project " Spasatel Demidov " having the Arctic ice class Arc 5 took part in the icebreaking from the port of Temryuk to the Kerch Strait in the access to the Black Sea.
Because of abnormally low temperatures ice conditions in the Sea of Azov and the situation at the moment are similar to the conditions of the complex winter navigation 2011-2012. The Azov Sea is almost entirely covered with ice, the thickness of the new pure ice is 25 cm, hummocks - much more. To prevent possible emergency situations with the vessels in difficult ice conditions the Azov-Black Sea branch of the FBU "Morspassluzhba Rosmorrechflot" received applications for assistance for the vessels with the implementation of icebreaking from the port of Temryuk to the Kerch Strait on the way out into the Black Sea. 18 and 19 of February, 2017 MRV MPSV07 project "Spasatel Demidov" has carried out the icebreaking of two convoys of 13 ships without a single accident: m/s "Nazan", m/s "Volgobalt 245", "Baltiysky 111”, m/s "Habas ", m/s "Armada Navigator ", m/s " Volga 4051", m/s "Marshal Vasilevsky", m/s " the Polaris ", the m/s "Volga 4006 ", m/s "Rusich 8", m/s "Liman", m/s "Sormovskiy 3052", m/s "Armada trader".
This is not the first time that the MRV project MPSV07 is taking part in icebreaking operations. In 2016 the Arctic multipurpose salvage vessel capacity of 4 MW project MPSV07 " Spasatel Kavdeykin" carried out ice conveyance in the seaport of Vanino and its approaches from the 1st of February. From 1 to 29 February " Spasatel Kavdeykin" provided ice conveyance to the 45 vessels.
"Spasatel Demidov " – is unique in its equipment and technical possibilities multifunction rescue vessel of ice navigation, built in 2015 by Nevsky Shipyard. The construction of the vessel was carried out in accordance with State Contract for the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency and for the Direction of State Contractor of Marine Transport Development Program for Morspassluzhba Rosmorrechflot.
The project was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb, JSC. Designer.
