According to Morspassluzhba Rosmorrechflot multifunction rescue vessel (MRV) with a capacity of 4 MW project MPSV07 "Spasatel Demidov" takes part in search and rescue operations in the Black Sea in the area of the crash of TU-154 from 07:00 December 27, 2016.

MRV "Spasatel Demidov " survey the seabed at depths of over 100 m in the designated search area abeam Adler towards the intended path of the crash, beyond the previously detected area with fragments of the aircraft. "Spasatel Demidov " provides movement in dynamic positioning mode and produces sonar bottom surveyed using side scan sonar Edgh Tech 4200 and the satellite navigation system. The survey is conducted at depths from 30 to 650 m.

"Spasatel Demidov " – is unique in its equipment and technical possibilities multifunction rescue vessel of ice navigation, built in 2015 by Nevsky Shipyard. The construction of the vessel was carried out in accordance with State Contract for the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency and for the Direction of State Contractor of Marine Transport Development Program for Morspassluzhba Rosmorrechflot.
