The Quality Management System of
LLC “Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant»
Since 2008 the formal Quality Management System has been introduced and forced into application at LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant». This System defines processes of maintenance and quality management at all production stages, from designing till the vessel delivery and implementation of a guarantee.
The Shipyard was granted the following Quality Certificates:
The Certificate of Firm Conformity issued by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping confirming that LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding Shiprepair Plant» was found to conform the requirements as a Firm engaged: shipbuilding, conversion, modernization and repair of objects of technical supervision (vessels, hull structures, ship equipment, products, etc.). In December, 2008 auditors of «Russian Register-Baltic Inspection» conducted an audit of Quality Management System of LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant» on conformity to requirements MS ISO 9001:2000. By the results of audit a Certificate ¹ 08.746.026, valid until December, 15th, 2011, was issued to LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant» verifying the compliance of company's acting Quality Management System with International Standard ISO 9001:2000.

Besides, the Certificate issued by international certification network IQNet also certifies that LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant» had implemented and maintains Quality Management System which fulfills the requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2000.

The Certificates cover the following field of activities of LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant»: building, remodeling, modernization, renovation and conversion of ships; repair and storage of ships; production and repair of the ship equipment, slipway equipment, machine building products, designing of ships, ship equipment, slipway equipment, machine building products.
The Marketing Director of the Shipyard was appointed the representative of the management on quality.

The officially stated «Quality Policy», one of the Quality Management System components, is the basis for goals definition in the field of quality.

LLC «Nevsky Shipbuilding-Shiprepair Plant» carries out monitoring and measurement process, including the inspection test of equipment and materials, the operational quality control of intermediate operations, the tests, and the final production control before the delivery as one of the production quality management processes.
The sequence of monitoring procedures and tests, monitored parameters and criteria of parameters are set in standards, normative and technical documentation, specifications, the documentation of production methods, operational requirements document for received products, instructions, programs, quality control plans and testing methods.
1. Inspection tests:
The inspection tests are carried out by the Quality Control Department (QCD). The target of the inspection tests at the shipyard is to ensure high-quality components, semi manufactured products, raw material and materials which are meeting the requirements of design and technology documentation, as well as specifications and technical documentation, contracts on delivery. The results of inspection tests are recorded in the Logs.
2. Operational control
The target of operational control is evaluation of product quality at intermediate stages of production. The operational control is implemented as soon as certain technological operation is finished and is used to check if products meet the requirements of design and technological documentation. The results of the operational control being satisfying, products are transferred to the next technological operation.
3. The control of finished goods:
The control of finished goods includes all-round evaluation of finished goods quality on conformity to the requirements established in normative and technical documentation as well as acceptance tests. The results of control are recorded in the logbooks, protocols, reports, passports, construction and mooring certificates, sea trial certificates and acts.
The finished goods are submitted for acceptance to representatives of Classification societies.
The Shipyard has at its disposal Testing laboratory, a number of special laboratories and a metrological department, meant for the following types of tests: pneumatic, hydraulic, etc. Welded seams are tested with nondestructive methods, namely, radiographic, ultrasonic, and capillary ones. The mechanical properties of metals are tested, and other tests of metals are carried out. Chemical analysis of various materials, namely, oil products, paint and lacquer materials, etc. is carried out.
Measuring instrumentation and tools are tested in the Center for Tests and Certification «Test St.-Petersburg» in the terms specified in Tests Schedules. The staff of Shipyard Laboratory has necessary qualification documents.
The Quality Management System is being continuously improved to ensure high efficiency of production and to increase Customer Satisfaction Index.
