Technical specification
The project RSD49 is developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb, JSC on the order of Nevsky Shipyard and North-Western Shipping Company, JSC. The vessel meets the requirements of the international conventions.
RSD49 project vessels are intended for carrying of the general and bulk cargoes, including steel, grain, timber, coal, large-dimension and heavy-weight cargoes and dangerous cargoes of classes 1, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 by IC IMDG and Appendix B of the BC Code in the Caspian Sea as well as in the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, White Sea, North Sea including routes around Europe and on the Irish Sea in winter.
The vessels of project RSD49 refer to «Volgo-Don Max» class in accordance with the classification accepted by Marine Engineering Bureau. It means that vessels displacement and dimensions meet the requirements of Volga-Don Shipping Canal.
Nevsky Shipyard constructs the series of 10 sister vessels for North-Western Shipping Company.
Cargo holds are equipped with “Folding” hatch covers manufactured by the company “Cargotec MacGregor”. They provide complete opening of the holds.
The feature of RSD49 project vessel is the existence of a large middle hold in fifty two meters length, which makes it possible to transport outsize project cargoes in one way voyage Europe-Caspian Sea.
2 diesels Wartsila with average speed of 1200 kW each are used as main engines. They operate on heavy fuel with viscosity up to 380 cst.
